On May 16, the Qingjiangpu District Animal Health Supervision Institute conducted a spot check on the animal diagnosis and treatment institutions within its jurisdiction. To the surprise of law enforcement officers, the three pet clinics that were sampled all had illegal drug use. A large number of human drugs were found in the pharmacy medicine cabinet of the clinic. There are more than 40 types of drugs, including penicillin sodium for injection, ribavirin injection, epinephrine hydrochloride injection, etc., all of which are human drugs.
Law enforcement officers immediately seized the illegal drugs from three animal clinics and filed an investigation. At the beginning of June, an administrative penalty decision was made on three pet clinics: immediately stop using human drugs for animal treatment, confiscate the detained human drugs, and impose an administrative penalty of 10000 yuan.

Xu Jianguo, director of the Institute for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, pointed out that more than 250 zoonotic and parasitic animal diseases have been confirmed worldwide, of which 89 are more harmful.
